Juventus wish Paul Pogba "very best" upon return to Manchester United

Juventus wish Paul Pogba the "very best" following his world-record £89m transfer to Manchester United.

Juventus have bid farewell to Paul Pogba on positive terms having wished the midfielder the "very best" upon his return to Manchester United.

In the early hours of the morning, the Premier League giants confirmed the signing of Pogba in a world-record transfer costing £89m.

The France international is now the most expensive footballer in history, eclipsing the £85m figure paid by Real Madrid to sign Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.

Pogba joined Juventus from United in 2012 on a free transfer, and went on to win four Serie A titles, three Italian Super Cups and two Coppa Italia crowns.

In an official statement on the Italian giants' website, it was confirmed that the fee could rise to £93m in add-ons.

The club added: "While Manchester would be the scene of his first steps in the game, and indeed now of his future, it was in Turin that Paul became a world-renowned star and developed into one of the most imposing and explosive midfielders on the planet.

"Everyone associated with Juventus Football Club would like to thank Paul for his unforgettable four years of service and wish him the very best upon his return to England with Manchester United. Merci Paul."

Meanwhile, manager Jose Mourinho has backed Pogba to become the "heart" of the club for the next decade or so.
