Paris Saint-Germain reportedly make contact with Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho over the possibility of him becoming their next manager.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly made contact with Jose Mourinho's representatives over the possibility of him becoming their next manager.

Mourinho has been linked with the free-spending Ligue 1 giants in the past, with PSG's Qatari owners aiming to steer the club to Champions League glory.

Mourinho is a two-time winner of the competition from his time with Porto and Inter Milan, and the Parisian outfit have reportedly identified the Manchester United boss as their number one choice to help the club lift the trophy for the first time.

Current boss Unai Emery was hired largely due to his European record with Sevilla, but the Spaniard failed to win the Ligue 1 title in his debut season at the club and saw his side fall to a humiliating Champions League exit at the hands of Barcelona.

United would be reluctant to let Mourinho leave the club after he steered them to three trophies in his first season at Old Trafford, while this term he has led them to second in the Premier League table.

However, PSG would be able to afford to prise the Portuguese boss away from the 20-time champions of England and the allure of their project could also tempt Mourinho to make the move.

PSG are currently the favourites to lift the Champions League title this season having won all four of their Group B matches so far, scoring 17 goals without reply in the process.
