Rafael da Silva: 'Blame Manchester United players, not David Moyes'

Rafael da Silva says that the players are to blame for Manchester United's poor season and not manager David Moyes.

Rafael da Silva has said that the Manchester United squad be blamed for the club's poor season so far and not manager David Moyes.

The Scot, who guided United to a 2-0 win over Swansea City on Saturday, has found life tough at Old Trafford as he looks to try to carry on from where his predecessor Sir Alex Ferguson left off following his retirement.

"We are the ones who have to take the responsibility," Rafael told reporters after the Swansea win.

"We have to show, like we did in the second half. I don't know why everyone is looking at the manager. It is the players who have to do the job on the pitch.

"We are together. We knew there would be a change. The manager had just left after 27 years. It was always going to be hard. We have to take the mentality David Moyes has given us and use it on the pitch."

The victory over Swansea ended a run of three consecutive defeats for United in 2014.
