Wayne Rooney has claimed that Ashley Young has been the best player at Manchester United this season.
Young, 29, has enjoyed a resurgence under manager Louis van Gaal during the 2014-15 campaign, scoring two goals and providing six assists in all competitions.
David de Gea won the Players' Player of the Year award at United's end-of-season dinner last night, but Rooney has revealed that he voted for Young.
"He had a difficult season last year, he didn't play much and I know he found that tough," Rooney told the club's official website. "He had a bit of stick from the fans but he's come back, he's turned that around and he's been incredible this year. That's why I voted for him."
The Red Devils wrap up their Premier League campaign on Sunday when they face relegation-threatened Hull City at the KC Stadium.
