Manchester United reportedly made no attempt to sign either Toby Alderweireld or Danny Rose from Tottenham Hotspur during the summer despite a whole host of speculation.
Alderweireld was strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford throughout the summer, with Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho desperate to bring a new central defender to the club.
United were also credited with an interest in Rose, meanwhile, as the 20-time English champions considered selling Luke Shaw ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.
However, it has been reported that United did not approach Tottenham over a move for either player.
"There was never any interest from United in either Alderweireld or Rose. So it wasn't a case of us refusing to sell either player to them - they never spoke to us," The Mirror quotes a Tottenham source as saying.
Tottenham will travel to United in the Premier League on Monday night.
