Premier League 2015-16 in numbers: Week 3

Sports Mole looks back on the third round of Premier League matches with a selection of facts and figures from each of the 10 encounters.

Manchester United 0-0 Newcastle United

Man United captain Wayne Rooney has now not scored a club goal since April 4, some 858 minutes of action.

However, he managed to record two shots on target for just the second time in the Premier League this calendar year.

Meanwhile, visiting Newcastle ended in a sequence of nine consecutive defeats on the road.

Crystal Palace 2-1 Aston Villa

Match-winner and Palace debutant Bakary Sako had six attempts at goal, five of which were on target.

The winger's impact helped the Eagles to extend their unbeaten Premier League run against Villa to seven matches.

On their last three trips to London, Villa have found the net just three times.

Leicester City 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur

The 29 points that Leicester have collected since the start of April is more than any other Premier League club.

Winger Riyad Mahrez has scored four goals in three outings this term to lead the division's goalscoring chart.

Meanwhile, travelling Spurs have won just two of their previous eight Premier League away encounters.

Norwich City 1-1 Stoke City

Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland, who was voted Man of the Match, made six saves at Carrow Road, which was more than any other keeper this weekend.

He was beaten by Norwich defender Russell Martin, though, as he scored for the second game in succession for the first time in his career.

The draw ended a run of four straight home Premier League defeats for the Canaries.

Sunderland 1-1 Swansea City

The hosting Black Cats have now not won any of the last 18 Premier League matches in which they've fallen behind.

Their goal was scored by Jermain Defoe, who found the net for the 130th time in the Premier League.

As for Swansea, French centre-forward Bafetimbi Gomis found the net for the eighth time in nine outings.

West Ham United 3-4 Bournemouth

Callum Wilson became the first player to score a Premier League hat-trick against West Ham since Rooney in April 2011.

Wilson has now scored in the Premier League, Championship, League One and Football Conference.

West Ham goalkeeper Darren Randolph has now shipped 20 goals in his last four appearances against the Cherries.

West Bromwich Albion 2-3 Chelsea

Pedro, who found the net 99 times for Barcelona, took just 20 minutes to open his goalscoring account in a Chelsea shirt.

The Blues had their captain John Terry sent off for first time since April 2010 and the fifth time in his career.

West Brom midfielder James Morrison scored two Premier League goals in one game for the first time and he would have had a hat-trick had he scored from the penalty spot.

Everton 0-2 Manchester City

Man City summer signing Raheem Sterling ended a run of 12 Premier League matches without an assist.

Left-back Aleksandar Kolarov, who opened the scoring at Goodison Park, has scored at least one goal in each of his six seasons in the English top flight.

The Toffees are without a victory from their last five meetings with the Citizens, who have won four games during that run.

Watford 0-0 Southampton

Watford had 13 attempts on goal at Vicarage Road, but not one of those hit the target.

The Hornets were the second highest goalscorers at home in the Championship last term, but they are yet to get off the mark in their opening two Premier League fixtures at Vicarage Road.

The visiting Saints stretched their unbeaten run against Watford to four matches.

Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

In their last six outings in front of their own supporters at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal have failed to find the net on five occasions.

Their striker, Olivier Giroud, appeared in the Premier League for the Gunners for the 100th time.

Visiting Liverpool have won only one of their last seven matches away from Anfield.
