Ole Gunnar Solskjaer payoff 'would cost £7m'

Manchester United will reportedly have to pay head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer £7m if they decide to sack him after their poor start to the season.

Manchester United would reportedly have to pay £7m if they were to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

With the Red Devils languishing in 12th place in the Premier League, the United hierarchy are said to be considering parting ways with the Norwegian.

However, they would be forced to cough up £7m to the former Cardiff City manager, who signed a long-term deal towards the end of last season, according to The Sun.

It would be a comparatively cheaper sacking to United's last, however, when they fired Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese pocketed £19.6m, having been on a much more lucrative contract than Solskjaer.

United face league leaders and bitter rivals Liverpool next, with the Reds having won every league game so far this season.
