Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has admitted that he was unaware of any interest from Manchester United before he signed a new long-term contract at the Bernabeu.
The Wales international has become one of football's top earners after signing a six-year deal thought to be worth £350,000 a week after tax.
Since moving to the Spanish club from Tottenham Hotspur in a then-world record £85m transfer, Bale has won five trophies, including two Champions League titles.
United were heavily linked with the 27-year-old's signature, but Bale has no intention of returning to the Premier League as he now feels settled in Spain.
In fact, the Welsh attacker was in the dark over United's rumoured interest.
"I couldn't tell you if anyone was interested since I've been here," Bale told reporters in a press conference. "I'm very happy here.
"We never really speak about these things. If they have [approached Real Madrid], they have, but I would not really know about it. Everything is handled behind the scenes."
Bale has scored 62 goals in 134 appearances for Madrid in all competitions.
