Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has reportedly moved a step closer to completing his move to Real Madrid.
Much of the summer has been dominated by the rumours linking De Gea with a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu, and the speculation surrounding his future has persuaded Louis van Gaal to leave the Spaniard out of his squad in the early stages of the season.
United were believed to be holding out for an offer of £35m from Real, but The Mirror claims that a fee just below £30m is likely to be agreed before Tuesday's transfer deadline.
Despite Van Gaal's initial insistence that he would not let the 24-year-old leave Old Trafford, the report suggests that members of his camp, including agent Jorge Mendes, are confident of a deal going through on Monday.
De Gea has just one year remaining on his current contract.
