Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is reportedly close to agreeing fresh terms at Old Trafford after being offered wages of £220,000 a week.
The Spain international strengthened his status as arguably the world's best keeper in midweek with a string of saves to keep out Sevilla, helping the Red Devils to a creditable 0-0 draw in Andalusia.
De Gea has been regularly linked with Real Madrid in recent years, coming particularly close to joining two-and-a-half years ago when only a faulty fax machine prevented a move from going through.
Madrid are also understood to be weighing up a summer offer for the 27-year-old but, according to The Times, talks are progressing over a new deal to stay in Manchester until at least 2021.
United hope to reach an agreement in the coming weeks, which could then see Los Blancos go all out to land Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea.
