Eintracht Frankfurt have held discussions with Manchester United about signing Guillermo Varela on a season-long loan, according to reports.
The 22-year-old is believed to have been deemed surplus to requirements by new Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho, who has reportedly made him train with the club's reserves.
According to German magazine Kicker, the Bundesliga club has made an initial approach for a loan deal, with a view to securing Varela on a permanent switch.
The Uruguayan made seven appearances for Man Utd last season and went on to earn his first international call-up with La Celeste.
