Dietmar Hamann urges Angel di Maria, Gareth Bale swap deal

Dietmar Hamann believes that Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria and Real Madrid's Gareth Bale could switch clubs this summer.

Dietmar Hamann has said that Manchester United and Real Madrid could potentially agree a deal that would see Angel di Maria and Gareth Bale switch clubs.

Bale has endured a tough second season at Madrid following his record-breaking transfer in 2013 and has frequently come under fire for his displays by the club's supporters.

It has also been a disappointing campaign for Di Maria, who joined United from Real last summer, and there has been heightened speculation that he could leave at the end of the season.

"There is a lot of uncertainty at the moment," he told talkSPORT. "The way it's going, I would be very surprised if he was at Real Madrid next season. Manchester United will be on red alert.

"Angel di Maria came from Real Madrid and there may be the opportunity to do a swap deal. I would love to see Gareth Bale back in the Premier League."

Di Maria and Bale both helped Madrid to win their 10th European Cup last season.
