Manchester United are reportedly considering a fresh approach for Mats Hummels in January as the centre-back wants out of Bayern Munich.
Hummels, who has started just half of Bayern's six Bundesliga matches this term, previously rejected a move to Old Trafford in 2014.
The Germany international has been constantly touted as a target for the Red Devils ever since, and Bild reports that they may finally land their man in the New Year.
Having become a victim of new boss Niko Kovac's rotation policy, the 29-year-old is said to be looking towards the Allianz Arena exit.
However, the report also indicates that any move for Hummels could depend on whether Jose Mourinho still remains in charge of United come the January transfer window.
Mourinho missed out on a number of defensive targets in the summer, including Toby Alderweireld and Harry Maguire.
