Man United transfer news: Juventus, Barcelona 'keen' on Red Devils attacker

Juventus and Barcelona are allegedly both interested in signing Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho this summer.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has said that Juventus "appreciate" Jadon Sancho, but a possible deal for the Manchester United attacker this summer is not close to completion.

Sancho spent the second half of the 2023-24 campaign on loan at Borussia Dortmund after the breakdown of his relationship with Man United head coach Erik ten Hag.

Dortmund have thus far been unable to negotiate a permanent return for the Englishman, though, and as it stands, he will be back with Man United on Monday for the start of pre-season training.

Sancho is unlikely to have a future at Old Trafford, with the 20-time English champions believed to be attempting to sell him during the summer market.

However, Man United are not thought to be willing to let the 24-year-old leave for a cut-price fee, with the club allegedly looking for around £40m for his services this summer.

Romano confirms Juventus interest in Sancho

Romano has claimed that Juventus are keen on Sancho, while Barcelona are also keeping a close eye on the developments surrounding the ex-Manchester City youngster.

However, there is no "advanced negotiation" for the Englishman at this stage of proceedings.

"Sancho - Juve, Barca, at the moment. Nothing is imminent for Sancho, but I can confirm that Juventus appreciate the player," Romano said on his Transfer Live show.

"Maybe some of you remember that at the end of November last year, I told you about Juventus' interest in Sancho before Borussia Dortmund appeared on the scene.

"And now, I can tell you that Juventus' interest is still there, so he's still one of the players they appreciate, but at the moment, it's still not an advanced negotiation between Sancho and Juve or Juve and Manchester United."

Will Sancho leave Man United this summer?

Sancho's relationship with Ten Hag completely broke down towards the start of last season.

Indeed, the Man United head coach said that he left the forward out of his squad against Arsenal in the Premier League due to poor performances on the training ground, which Sancho denied in a post on social media.

The attacker claimed that he had been made "a scapegoat", and he was later completely removed from the first-team picture at Old Trafford.

The forward helped Dortmund reach last season's Champions League final, and he has another two years left to run on his contract with Man United.

A move to the 20-time English champions has simply not worked out, though, managing only 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances, and it seems likely that he will be on the move this summer, as his relationship breakdown with Ten Hag has reached a point of no return.
