Liverpool could move for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer, according to a report.

Liverpool are reportedly weighing up a move for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The France international's contract in Turin is due to expire at the end of June, and he is allegedly preparing to leave the Old Lady on a free transfer in search of pastures new.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool are keeping a close eye on the situation, with the Reds considering making a move for the 27-year-old.

Rabiot, as it stands, is able to enter into discussions with foreign clubs and sign a pre-contract with a team outside of Serie A.

Juventus are not believed to be confident when it comes to their chances of keeping the Frenchman, with the Old Lady facing the possibility of missing out on European football for the 2023-24 campaign.

The Turin giants are currently 10th in the Serie A table, 11 points behind sixth-placed Atalanta BC, while they are 13 points from fourth-placed Lazio.

Rabiot joined Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019, and he has represented the Italian outfit on 154 occasions, contributing 12 goals and eight assists in the process.

The Frenchman was strongly linked with a move to Manchester United last summer, and it was thought at one stage that he was on the verge of joining the 20-time English champions.

However, a switch to Old Trafford is said to have broken down due to his wage demands, and he has been a key player for Juventus this season, scoring six goals and registering two assists in 25 appearances.

"I'm here at Juve, focused on my performances. I'm not thinking of my contract now - we will see how talks will go in the next months," Rabiot told Sky Italia when questioned on his future.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the midfielder 'dreams' of making the move to the Premier League.

Liverpool are expected to move for a couple of new central midfielders over the summer, with the Reds struggling in that area of the field during the 2022-23 campaign.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have also been credited with an interest in Rabiot, who featured on 227 occasions for PSG before making the move to Juventus on a free transfer.
