Liverpool are apparently willing to outbid Manchester United and Arsenal in order to secure the services of Crewe Alexandra wonderkid Nick Powell.
Brendan Rodgers has identified the promising 17-year-old as one of his transfer targets after taking the managerial duties at Anfield last week.
The Railwaymen have reportedly agreed an initial £2m fee with United for Powell, with the total figure passing £5m due to several add-on clauses.
However, Rodgers is poised to challenge the Red Devils by launching a higher offer for the teenage striker, according to The Mirror.
Powell scored in Crewe's League Two playoff final win over Cheltenham at Wembley in May.
