Manchester United are reportedly desperate for Inter Milan to take Alexis Sanchez on a permanent deal at the end of the 2019-20 campaign.
The Chile international, who is currently on the sidelines with an ankle injury, joined Inter on loan from United in the latter stages of the summer transfer window following a host of speculation.
As it stands, the 30-year-old will head back to Old Trafford at the end of the season, but according to The Athletic, United are keen to offload the attacker to Antonio Conte's side.
The report claims that the Red Devils want to use funds from a potential Sanchez sale in order to secure a deal for Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Haaland, although a deal could yet go through in January.
The South American, who managed one goal in three Serie A appearances for Inter before picking up an injury, has a contract at Old Trafford until the summer of 2022.
Much was expected of the attacker following his arrival from Arsenal in January 2018, but he managed just five goals in 45 appearances for United before returning to Serie A.
