Manchester United will reportedly reignite their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld in the January transfer window.
The Belgian defender had a clause in his contract which allowed for clubs to secure his signature for £25m if they made a bid over the summer, but no deal was reached.
Alderweireld's current contract at Spurs expires at the end of this season and it seems unlikely that he will sign fresh terms after negotiations broke down last year.
According to Inside Futbol, United will take advantage of Alderweireld's situation by launching a bid for him once the transfer window reopens in January.
Spurs are said to be keen to secure a figure for Alderweireld over the winter in order to avoid seeing him leave for free next year.
The Red Devils added to their defensive reinforcements over the last transfer window, signing Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka for a combined fee of £130m.
