Manchester United consider a summer swoop for Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly considering a summer swoop for Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen.

The Netherlands international has been with Barca since 2016 but has only made four La Liga appearances in that time due to his position as the club's number two.

The 30-year-old could feature in Barca's final La Liga game of the season against Eibar on Sunday as Marc-Andre ter Stegen is struggling with a knee problem, but the stopper's future is far from secure.

According to the Daily Record, Cillessen is 'a leading candidate' to replace David de Gea, with the Spain international yet to pen a new contract at Old Trafford.

De Gea has a deal with the 20-time English champions until next summer, but he is expected to be sold ahead of the 2019-2020 campaign if it becomes clear that he will not be penning fresh terms.

Cillessen, who is a 48-time Netherlands international, has made nine appearances for Barca in all competitions this season.
