Manchester United have reportedly identified Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane as a potential summer transfer target.
Unless Kane extends his Spurs contract past the end of 2023-24, speculation will persist regarding an exit from the North London outfit during one of the upcoming transfer windows.
Spurs rebuffed several attempts from Manchester City last year, but it has been perceived that the Premier League champions have moved onto other candidates for their centre-forward role.
According to The Mirror, United have plans to make a move of their own for the England international as they look to replace Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani.
As well as the relationship between the two clubs making a deal difficult, United may need to qualify for the Champions League in order to fund a bid which would need to be in excess of £100m.
The report suggests that United acquiring the services of Kane's former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino could also boost their chances of convincing the frontman to move to Old Trafford.
