Manchester United 'in no rush to hold contract talks with five first-team players'

Manchester United reportedly have no plans to open contract talks with five of their first-team players, all of whom have 18 months left on their deals.

Manchester United reportedly have no plans to open contract talks with five of their first-team players, all of whom come to the end of their current deals in the summer of 2018.

Juan Mata, Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw, Marouane Fellaini and Daley Blind all have 18 months remaining on their respective contracts, and all have the option of extending terms by 12 months.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the club would usually begin working on new contracts with 18 months left, but the North-West outfit are in no rush to do so with the quintet.

If there have been no developments by January 1, 2018, the players can hold talks with other clubs.
