Manchester City have reportedly opened discussions with Benfica over a £50m move for Ruben Dias.
The Citizens are seemingly determined to sign another central defender before the end of this summer's transfer window and have been strongly linked with Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly.
Pep Guardiola's side appear to have been priced out of a move for the Senegal international, though, and according to the Daily Mail, the Premier League giants are now in talks with Benfica over Dias.
The report claims that the Portuguese giants had previously been demanding £87m for the 23-year-old but are now willing to sell for £50m due to the financial impact of the coronavirus outbreak.
City could allegedly attempt to include Nicolas Otamendi as part of the deal, although Benfica are said to prefer a straight cash deal for a player who has also previously been linked with Manchester United.
Dias - contracted to the Eagles until the summer of 2024 - has already turned out for his current side on two occasions during the 2020-21 campaign.
