Manchester United want to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani on a free transfer, according to a report.

Manchester United reportedly want to sign Paris Saint-Germain's all-time leading goalscorer Edinson Cavani.

The Uruguay international, who has scored 200 goals in 301 appearances for the French champions, will see his contract at the Parc des Princes expire at the end of the season.

Boca Juniors have recently been linked with a move, but according to AS, United are also keen to sign the experienced centre-forward on a free transfer this summer.

The 33-year-old has struggled to secure a regular starting role during the 2019-20 campaign but has still scored seven goals in 22 appearances in all competitions.

United signed Odion Ighalo on loan from Shanghai Shenhua in January, but as it stands, the Nigerian will be returning to his parent club at the end of the season.

Cavani was also strongly linked with a switch to Atletico Madrid during the January transfer window, but the deadline passed with the South American still in Paris.
