Mason Greenwood is reportedly unlikely to move to the Saudi Pro League despite recent reports that Saudi Arabia could offer him the opportunity to rebuild his career.
The 21-year-old is currently searching for a new club, with Manchester United confirming earlier this week that the decision had been made for him to depart.
Last year, following accusations from a woman, Greenwood was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault, and he was then further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill.
The forward was also facing charges of attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, but the charges were dropped in February, so he is free to resume his career during the 2023-24 campaign.
Greenwood will not represent Man United again, but his contract is not being terminated, so the two parties are now working together to find him a club to continue his career.

There had been suggestions that Greenwood could be offered the opportunity to make a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League.
However, according to The Mirror, a switch to Saudi Arabia is seen as unlikely, with the clubs having reservations over a deal due to the public backlash.
The report claims that many senior figures believe that Greenwood's arrival would do serious damage to the division during a key period, with many big names making the move to the league this summer.
Roma have also been linked with his services, in addition to teams from Turkey, but it is believed that the Italian giants are not currently considering making an attempt to sign him.

Al Ettifaq are one of the Saudi teams to be linked with his services, but the club's head coach Steven Gerrard took to Instagram to brand the speculation "fake news".
According to BBC Sport, it would be 'very surprising' to see Greenwood arrive in Saudi Arabia, with the league currently against a move for the Englishman.
The Athletic claim that Man United had initially decided to bring the forward back before reversing their decision due to the huge reaction.
Greenwood is believed to be attracting interest from clubs in England, although it is difficult to see him moving to another team in his country at this stage of his career.
There is thought to be a chance that the Englishman could leave on loan if a permanent exit cannot be agreed upon due to the complex nature of the situation.
