Manchester United are reportedly tracking the progress of Atletico Madrid centre-back Jose Gimenez with a view to a potential move for the 21-year-old.
United boss Jose Mourinho has already made defensive improvements at the club following the arrival of Ivorian Eric Bailly, but it appears as though the Portuguese coach wants to add more depth to his backline.
According to The Mirror, the Red Devils recently sent scouts to watch the young Uruguayan in action against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League.
Gimenez has appeared for Uruguay at an international level after impressing for Madrid since his move to the club in the summer of 2013.
