David Moyes wants new Robin van Persie contract

David Moyes says that he wants Robin van Persie to extend his current contract with Manchester United.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has said that he will discuss extending Robin van Persie's contract with the club's chief executive Ed Woodward.

The 30-year-old, whose current deal with the Red Devils runs out in June 2016, has said that he is "very happy" at Old Trafford.

"That might be something I need to speak to Ed about," Moyes told the Daily Star when about the possibility of the Dutchman's contract being extended.

"You've heard from the horse's mouth how Robin feels and I did keep saying that I never thought there was any problem with him. He's a great player to work with."
