Darren Ferguson reveals that Manchester United's Nick Powell will not be signing on at Peterborough United.

Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson has ruled out the possibility of his club signing Nick Powell on loan from Manchester United.

A recent report had claimed that Ferguson had made contact with his father Sir Alex regarding the availability of 18-year-old, who joined Man United from Crewe Alexandra last summer.

However, Ferguson junior has rubbished that speculation and has raised doubts as to whether the attacking midfielder would be allowed to leave Old Trafford.

"There have been rumours about Nick Powell, I have no idea where they have come from, it is not going to happen," Ferguson told the club's official website. "He is injured anyway and I am not too sure my father will be letting him out on loan."

Ferguson was speaking after he had completed the loan additions of Scott Wootton and Davide Petrucci from the Red Devils.
