Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is pushing to complete the signing of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane this summer, according to a report.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly stepping up their efforts to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane this summer.

The England captain is about to enter the final year of his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and is no closer to reaching an agreement over a new deal.

Having failed to win a single piece of silverware in North London, Kane is once again being tipped to move on in search of trophies, although he is also gunning for Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League goalscoring record.

A switch to Manchester United was therefore considered the most realistic option for the 29-year-old, but Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has no intention of selling to a direct rival.

With the Spurs chief also holding out for a reported nine-figure sum, in spite of the fact that Kane could leave for free in 2024, Man United have reportedly decided to pursue other targets.

Levy would not have the same reservations over selling to a foreign club, and all of PSG, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have been linked with a move for Kane this summer.

However, Bayern could be priced out of a move for the England captain, while Real have already signed Joselu on loan from Espanyol and are now prioritising a deal for Kylian Mbappe in 2024.

Mbappe's possible move to the Bernabeu would leave PSG searching for a new striker for the 2023-24 season, and according to Le Parisien, president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is now pressing ahead with plans to sign the 29-year-old.

While Kane is a name high on PSG's shortlist, the Ligue 1 champions had apparently earmarked Napoli's Victor Osimhen as their number one target, but the former Lille man had no interest in a switch to Ligue 1.

PSG's feared front three of Neymar, Lionel Messi and Mbappe guided Les Parisiens to an 11th Ligue 1 title this term, but only the former may still be on the books by the time the 2023-24 season begins.

The French champions ultimately decided against extending Messi's contract for another 12 months, and the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner will officially join Inter Miami at the start of July.

Meanwhile, Mbappe recently sent a bombshell letter to PSG announcing that he would not be taking up the option to extend his contract until 2025, meaning that he could also depart on a free transfer next year.

The 24-year-old has nevertheless insisted that he plans to stay at the Parc des Princes next season and will not decide his future until 2024, but PSG are supposedly planning to sell him this summer if he refuses to commit to a new deal.

However, Mbappe's options for an imminent move away are sparse, as Real president Florentino Perez has revealed that Los Blancos are not expecting any more signings after Joselu's arrival.

Manchester United could be an option if Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani beats Sir Jim Ratcliffe to a takeover, but the Red Devils' activity in the market is currently restricted until the Glazers come to a final decision.
