Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick is unsure whether Cristiano Ronaldo will remain at Old Trafford this summer.

Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick has admitted that he is unsure whether Cristiano Ronaldo will remain at Old Trafford beyond this summer's transfer window.

The Portugal international has been in impressive scoring form for the Red Devils this season, netting 23 times in 36 appearances, in addition to contributing three assists.

The 37-year-old has a contract in Manchester until June 2023, with the option of a further year, but there has been a host of speculation surrounding his future in recent months.

Rangnick has said that it will be up to incoming head coach Erik ten Hag and Ronaldo to decide whether the forward will continue at Old Trafford for another season.

"In the end, it's both Erik's and also Cris's decision what they want to do. It is not for me to speak about that but, today, the performance of Cris was really great," Rangnick told Sky Sports News.

"Right now, we very much rely on Cristiano, he also showed a good performance when Chelsea were in possession. But there has to be a focus on bringing in a couple of new strikers for sure."

Meanwhile, in a separate interview, Rangnick told reporters: "This is something that we should speak about (Ronaldo's future) between Erik and the board and myself. Cristiano has another year of contract. It is also important to find out what he wants, if he wants to stay."

Ronaldo scored his 17th Premier League goal of the season in Thursday's 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Old Trafford.
