Report: Cristiano Ronaldo wants £500,000-a-week Manchester United return

Cristiano Ronaldo tells Manchester United to cough up a £500,000-a-week salary to convince him to leave Real Madrid, according to reports.

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly demanded a £500,000-a-week salary in order to return to Manchester United.

The 29-year-old expressed an ambition to rejoin the Red Devils, whom he left in 2009 for a then world-record £80m fee, before the end of his career.

Such a move could be pricey, however, as the Portuguese ace has requested an eye-watering £24m-a-year in wages to return to Old Trafford, according to the Daily Mail.

Wayne Rooney is currently United's top earner on a weekly salary of £300,000, with Radamel Falcao - on a season-long loan from AS Monaco - on £280,000.

Ronaldo, whose Real contract expires in 2018, scored 118 times during a six-year spell with the Premier League giants.
