Manchester United allegedly determine their stance regarding the potential availability of Alejandro Garnacho ahead of the January transfer window.

Manchester United have reportedly determined their stance over the future of Alejandro Garnacho ahead of the January transfer window.

Ruben Amorim has enjoyed a relatively positive start to life as Red Devils head coach, recording three victories and one draw from his six matches in charge.

However, losing back-to-back fixtures to Arsenal and Nottingham Forest in the Premier League has set United back in their efforts to secure a return to the Champions League for 2025-26.

Signing fresh faces at the turn of the year has subsequently become more likely, yet Amorim and the club's recruitment must decide how they wish to generate funds for any new arrivals.

According to the Daily Mail, it has been established whether United would be open to parting ways with Garnacho.

The report claims that the player's homegrown status essentially dictates that they would consider a sale for the right price.

Garnacho is allegedly valued in the region of £39m, a fee that may prove attractive to some high-profile clubs given the player's age and potential.

He is yet to showcase the form under Amorim that made him a key player under predecessor Erik ten Hag, contributing just four goals and one assist in 21 Premier League and Europa League fixtures.

Perhaps most tellingly, the Argentina international has not been used for longer than 59 minutes in any of the most recent four fixtures.

Will clubs see the bigger picture?

Still just 20 years of age, Garnacho has already reached 110 appearances for United in all competitions, chipping in with 23 goals and 13 assists.

Garnacho also missed just two Premier League fixtures during 2024-25 before spending the summer at the Copa America, albeit largely as a substitute.

Taking those factors into consideration, any admirers of Garnacho may be willing to take a punt of him at £39m.

United are also said to be ready to contemplate any suitable proposals for Marcus Rashford, another homegrown talent who would generate pure profit in the eyes of the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability regulations.

That said, Garnacho may emerge as the more attractive option courtesy of his age and lower wage.
