Manchester United have reportedly lost out to Real Madrid in the race to sign Porto's Eder Militao.
The centre-back, who started his professional career with Sao Paulo before moving to Porto in August 2018, has been linked with a number of European clubs in recent months.
Madrid were believed to be in the driving seat for the 21-year-old, with a recent report claiming that the European champions have a 'verbal agreement' with the Brazilian.
United were also said to be in the hunt for Militao, though, as the Red Devils look to improve their defence in this summer's transfer window.
According to The Sun, despite firm interest from the 20-time English champions, Los Blancos will activate the defender's release clause this summer to sign him in a £45m deal.
Militao has scored three times in 34 appearances for Porto during the 2018-19 campaign.
