Report: Middlesbrough bid for Daryl Murphy rejected

Ipswich Town have reportedly rejected a £4.5m bid from Middlesbrough for Republic of Ireland international Daryl Murphy.

Ipswich Town have reportedly rejected a £4.5m bid from Middlesbrough for striker Daryl Murphy.

The Republic of Ireland international has been linked with a number of Premier League and other Championship sides after scoring 27 goals for Mick McCarthy's club last season.

According to The Independent, Aitor Karanka's side put in an offer for the 32-year-old, but Ipswich have rejected the bid.

Ipswich and Middlesbrough reached the Championship playoffs last season, but were both beaten by now-promoted Norwich City.
