Montpellier HSC boss Rolland Courbis has advised Remy Cabella to snub a move to Newcastle United.
The Frenchman has been strongly linked with a move to the North-East of England in recent weeks, with the player's father, Hector Cabella, recently revealing that a switch is imminent.
However, with no official confirmation from the Ligue 1 outfit yet over the proposed deal, Courbis has urged the 23-year-old to hold out for a transfer to a larger club, claiming that he would not want to "spend a week" with the Magpies.
He told reporters following his side's 2-0 win over Sochaux: "They are not a big club and I hope another club tries to buy him. As a player, I would not even want to spend a week there."
Alan Pardew's side coasted to a 3-1 win away to West Ham United on Saturday.
