Newcastle United captain Fabricio Coloccini has admitted that he was flattered when manager Alan Pardew compared him to England legend Bobby Moore.
Pardew made the comparison after the 30-year-old Argentina international produced a fine display during last weekend's 1-1 draw with local rivals Sunderland.
"I'm very proud the manager compared me to Bobby Moore," Coloccini told The Sun. "He is an important man in England, so it is very good to hear the manager say that.
"I have to say 'thank you' to the manager for that compliment because Bobby Moore was one of the best players ever to play for England."
Moore, who passed away in 1993, captained the Three Lions as they lifted the World Cup in 1966.
