Former Newcastle United manager Kevin Keegan has claimed that the club is "going nowhere".
The Magpies, who were thrashed 5-0 by Manchester City on Saturday, currently sit in 11th place in the Premier League standings.
With the club likely to finish around mid-table again this season, Keegan believes that they are suffering from a lack of direction.
"It hurts me to say it but Newcastle are a club going nowhere," he told beIN Sports. "John Carver is valuable to have around the place but he won't be manager next season."
Newcastle are back in action on Saturday when they host Aston Villa in the Premier League.
