Nice demolish 10-man Bordeaux as Hatem Ben Arfa stars

Nice have demolished Bordeaux 6-1 at the Allianz Riviera thanks to goals from Valere Germain, Mickael Le Bihan, Hatem Ben Arfa and Alexandre Mendy.

It took Bordeaux just six minutes to break the deadlock, with Jaroslav Plasil firing low into the bottom corner of the net after receiving the ball from Enzo Crivelli.

Nice had a number of chances to equalise as the game settled, but Le Bihan, Jeremy Pied and Vincent Koziello all shot wide of the target, while Germain saw his attempt saved by visiting goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso.

The home side were level just over 10 minutes before the break, however, when Germain connected with a cross from Pied to head in the equaliser.

Bordeaux's Wahbi Khazri and Nice's Ben Arfa both had shots saved as the first half came to a close, and the hosts turned the scoreline on its head with the game's third goal as Le Bihan struck the ball into the bottom of the net in the 42nd minute to make it 2-1.

The away side went down to 10 men early in the second half after Enzo Crivelli was dismissed for violent conduct, and things went from bad to worse just two minutes later when Nicolas Pallois put the ball into his own net to give Nice a 3-1 lead.

Former Newcastle United and Hull City winger Ben Arfa scored Nice's fourth in the 68th minute after receiving the ball from Le Biham.

The former French international then scored his second, and the Eaglets' fifth of the game with 15 minutes remaining.

Bordeaux's miserable night was rounded off in the 85th minute, as Mendy fired into the bottom corner after latching on to a Jean Seri pass to lift Nice up to eighth in Ligue 1.
