Norwich City and West Ham United play out a goalless draw at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Norwich City and West Ham United shared the points in a 0-0 draw at Carrow Road on Saturday.

It was the away side who started the better, with Mohamed Diame proving a threat with a series of powerful surges from midfield.

However, Norwich had the first real chance of the afternoon after five minutes, but Andrew Surman just fired his effort wide of the post.

The best chance of the opening stages fell to Carlton Cole after 13 minutes, but his effort was blocked on the line before Matthew Taylor fired wide of the Norwich post.

West Ham continued to create openings with Kevin Nolan testing John Ruddy from close range, but the home side resisted the pressure.

Norwich had two glorious chances to take the lead either side of the 30-minute mark, but Grant Holt and Robert Snodgrass were both denied from close range.

Norwich might have been awarded a penalty five minutes before the break when James Collins felled Surman, but the referee deemed the foul to be outside of the penalty area.

It was the home side who started the second period the stronger, and Jackson was denied by a fine save from Jussi Jaaskelainen five minutes into the half.

The Hammers remained a threat, although Ricardo Vaz Te summed up their finishing with a poor effort just before the hour mark. Sebastien Bassong tested Jaaskelainen with a header down the other end moments later.

Both sides continued to push for the winner as the final 15 minutes approached, but each defence remained on top in a sloppy ending to proceedings.

Harry Kane - on loan from Tottenham Hotspur - might have won it for Norwich late on, but his strike was straight at Jaaskelainen.

The result means that Norwich have now drawn their third league match in a row, while West Ham have made it seven points from four games.
