Parma manager Roberto Donadoni has backed Antonio Cassano to make the Italy squad for this summer's World Cup finals.
The striker found the back of the net during his side's 2-1 win over Chievo on Sunday, and Donadoni believes that if he keeps up his good form, then Cesare Prandelli will be taking him to Brazil.
"There is no getting around it. He knows that if he continues to score and to play at this level, he will not go unnoticed," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"But now it is early, indeed counterproductive, to approach this subject. Let him be calm and we will talk again in two months.
"Who has been good at handling this situation? Not me, his teammates were good - thanks to them it has not created any tension in the group."
Cassano has won 35 caps for the Italian national side, scoring 10 goals in the process.
