Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has hinted that the club will move for Toronto FC striker Jermain Defoe in the January transfer window.
The 32-year-old has spent nine months playing for the MLS club, but reports have suggested that the forward is keen to return to England.
QPR failed to land Defoe's signature in the summer transfer window, but reports have claimed that the Premier League club are hopeful of signing the forward in the New Year on a three-year deal.
"We tried to get Jermain before the deadline but at the moment there is no movement on that one," Redknapp told reporters. "I'm a big fan, he's a goal scorer and someone you would want at your club. He's a player I'm sure we'd be interested in in January. It's up to the chairman."
Defoe has played under Redknapp at West Ham United, Portsmouth and Tottenham Hotspur.
