Martyn Waghorn suffers hamstring injury in Rangers draw

Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn is likely to be sidelined for the foreseeable future after suffering a hamstring injury against Hamilton Academical.

Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn suffered a hamstring injury during the closing stages of this evening's Scottish Premiership fixture with Hamilton Academical.

Earlier in the game at Ibrox, Waghorn had scored his side's first top-flight goal in four years but the match ended on a sour note for the 26-year-old after he pulled up in the 81st minute as he chased a ball played down the left flank.

Last season's top goalscorer received several minutes of treatment before being helped off the pitch, and the injury is expected to keep him sidelined for at least the next few weeks.

Despite ending the game with 10 men as a result of the setback, Rangers recorded a 1-1 draw in Glasgow.
