Championship club Reading have asked the Football Association for more time to respond to a charge related to crowd disturbance.
The FA today charged both Reading and Aston Villa over pitch invasions during FA Cup quarter-finals last month.
The clubs were given until Thursday to respond to the charge, but Reading have asked for more time.
"We believe that the police and the stewarding team acted swiftly at this game, which was attended by 22,908 supporters," read a statement on the club website.
Reading progressed to their first FA Cup semi-final since 2007, but fell to holders Arsenal in extra time on Saturday at Wembley.
