Jose Mourinho has said he is "no way" resigning as Real Madrid after it emerged that he could face a 12-match ban for his behaviour in the Spanish Super Cup final last week.
The manager was caught on camera poking the eye of Barca assistant Tito Vilanova in a huge on-pitch brawl that broke out towards the end of the game, which his side lost.
Today the Spanish Football Federation confirmed that it is investigating Mourinho and is considering disciplinary action.
In a letter posted on the Real Madrid website today, Mourinho gave an apology - but said it was only directed to disappointed Real fans.
"I also wish to apologise to Madridistas, and only to them, for my attitude in our last game," he said. "Some people are better adapted to the hypocrisy in football than I am, and they hide their faces and speak in whispers deep inside tunnels. I'm not learning to be a hypocrite, and I don't want to."
He added that the prospect of him leaving the Bernabeu was "impossible", declaring: "There is no way I'm leaving. No way!"
