Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has said that there was a "bad atmosphere" at the club while previous manager Jose Mourinho was in charge.
Mourinho spent three years at the Bernabeu, but had a fractious relationship with many of the team's stars, most notably long-serving captain Iker Casillas.
Ronaldo told reporters: "It was a difficult period both for me and for the club.
"There were clashes with other players too and even with the fans."
Mourinho has previously said that his last season in charge of Madrid was the worst of his career.
The Portuguese took up the reigns at Chelsea last year after leaving Madrid by mutual consent.
