Barcelona boss Xavi has insisted that his side can still catch Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga table.
Sunday's 1-0 win over Sevilla moved the Catalan giants into second position in Spain's top flight, 12 points behind leaders Real Madrid with a game in hand.
Despite Los Blancos having a comfortable lead at the summit entering their final eight matches, Xavi has challenged his side to catch the leaders in the final weeks of the campaign.
"Regarding La Liga, as long as the mathematics doesn't say otherwise we'll keep fighting. We're going to try. We're going to try to win all the games. It's hard to see Real Madrid dropping points but we're going to try until the end," Marca quotes Xavi as saying.
Barcelona struggled in the early stages of the campaign under Ronald Koeman but have been transformed by Xavi, with the club also competing for success in the Europa League.
The win over Sevilla made it six straight league victories for the Catalan outfit, including a 4-0 success over Real Madrid when the two teams locked horns at Bernabeu before the international break.
Barcelona will now head to Germany to take on Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final on Thursday night.
