Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti confirms that Gareth Bale will leave Los Blancos at the end of this season, when his contract will expire, after nine years at the club.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that winger Gareth Bale will leave Los Blancos on the expiration of his contract this summer.

The Welshman has suffered an injury-hit season this year, making just four La Liga appearances and only featuring for Ancelotti's side on Saturday for the first time since August.

Bale will be desperate to gain fitness ahead of Wales' World Cup qualifiers in March, and will now also be looking to end his career at the Bernabeu in the best possible way.

Football expert Fabrizio Romano quoted Ancelotti, who said: "Bale has had injuries, then his contract ends - he may not have had a good motivation but he wants to finish here as he deserves. It's important for Bale to finish his career well here."

The 32-year-old returned to the Premier League for a brief spell last season when he went back to Tottenham Hotspur on loan, and it is rumoured that his next move could be another return to the Lilywhites.

Bale has filled his trophy cabinet during his nine-year spell at Real Madrid, winning 17 titles in total, including four Champions League triumphs.
