Real Madrid and Barcelona are reportedly still firmly in the hunt to sign Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek.
Earlier this month, it was claimed that Manchester United had identified the Netherlands international as a potential signing with the English club preparing to sell Paul Pogba.
However, according to Diario Sport, the Red Devils will face competition for the Dutchman if they make a move as both Madrid and Barca are interested in a deal at some point during 2020.
The 22-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2018-19 campaign as Ajax won a league and cup double in addition to reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League.
The midfielder has again been in good form this term, meanwhile, scoring seven times and contributing six assists in 24 appearances in all competitions.
Van de Beek will see his current deal in Amsterdam expire in the summer of 2022.
