Real Madrid have reportedly deemed Mariano Diaz surplus to requirements at the club.
The attacker returned to the Bernabeu in the summer of 2018 having scored 21 times in 48 appearances for French club Lyon during an impressive spell.
Mariano only managed four goals in 19 appearances for Los Blancos during the 2018-19 campaign, however, and he has not made a single appearance for Zinedine Zidane's side this term.
According to Marca, Madrid are keen to move the former Dominican Republic international on in the January transfer window in order to free up space for new arrivals.
Mariano was a prolific scorer for both Real Madrid C and Real Madrid B before stepping into the first team, although the forward has netted just nine goals in 33 outings for the senior side.
Espanyol and Valencia were both credited with an interest during the summer transfer window.
