San Jose Earthquakes 1-1 Chicago Fire

Steven Lenhart scores a last-gasp equaliser for 10-man San Jose Earthquakes.

Western Conference leaders San Jose Earthquakes needed a last-minute goal from Steven Lenhart to rescue a point from their home game with Chicago Fire.

Chris Rolfe opened the scoring in the 37th minute at Buck Shaw Stadium when he put the visitors ahead with a long-range effort.

Both sides had many chances to score during an open and exciting second half. However, the game looked to be all over in stoppage time when San Jose were reduced to 10 men following Alan Gordon's collection of a second yellow card.

Moments after Gordon's dismissal, Lenhart blasted his side level with a fizzing low strike from 20 yards.
