Klaas-Jan Huntelaar will miss Schalke 04's match against Bayern Munich on Saturday with a ruptured blood vessel in his left eye.

Schalke 04 striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has been ruled out of this weekend's trip to Bayern Munich with an eye injury.

The 29-year-old has ruptured a blood vessel in his left eye, which also kept him out of the Netherlands' 1-1 draw with Italy in midweek.

It is unclear how long Huntelaar will be out of action for, with Die Knappen general manager Horst Heldt saying: "Something like this can be good in two days, but it can also take considerably longer."

Huntelaar has scored five goals in 19 Bundesliga games this season, but has not found the net since November.
